Ida downgraded to tropical storm

Tropical Storm Warning

A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT For the following counties: Walton, Washington, Holmes, Jackson, Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Liberty and Franklin. A TROPICAL STORM WARNING MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE WARNING AREA WITHIN 24 HOURS.

COASTAL STORM SURGE FLOODING OF 2 TO 4 FEET ABOVE NORMAL TIDE.
The latest track forecast for Hurricane Ida indicates that the system will make landfall somewhere across the far Western Florida Panhandle or Southwest Alabama early Tuesday morning as either a minimal hurricane or strong tropical storm. After landfall, Ida is expected to transition into an extratropical storm and continue to produce locally heavy rainfall and strong
winds to tropical storm force until moving south of the region on Wednesday.
Due to the fast movement expected of Ida, storm total rainfall amounts of 3-5 inches are expected in Southeast Alabama and the Florida panhandle with lesser amounts of 2-4 inches elsewhere.
