More portions of Apalachicola Bay re-open to oyster harvesting

Another portion of the Apalachicola bay reopened to oyster harvesting today. The Department of Agriculture reopened the approved winter east area 1611 at sunrise today. That area has been closed since Tuesday. The approved west area of the bay was opened on Thursday. The conditionally approved winter areas are still closed to commercial oyster harvesting. And just a reminder to oystermen beginning this weekend, oystermen can now work 7 days a week through the winter oyster harvesting season.
