No swimming advisories for 18 weeks and counting...

Florida Seafood festival weekend also marks the 18th week with no swimming advisories in Franklin County. The health department released its beach water quality results on Thursday and said they found no bacteria in water samples taken from any of the 6 beaches tested in Franklin County this week. Popular swimming areas that are tested every week include the St. George Island Public Beach and State Park as well as Carrabelle beach and Alligator Point. Health officials look for bacteria that could indicate a health hazard to humans. For over 4 months they have found no cause for concern from any of our local beaches. There were also no swimming advisories issued for Gulf or Wakulla Counties this week. If you would like to see weekly swimming advisory results for yourself, you can follow the link we’ve set up on the news page at oysterradio.com.
