A flood warning remains in effect for areas along the Apalachicola River including Franklin, Gulf, Calhoun and Liberty Counties. Heavy rains raised river levels at Blountstown to 19.7 feet Monday though the river is now falling. Flood level for the Apalachicola is 15 feet which the river is not expected to reach until sometime next week. It’s possible that some minor flooding could occur along the riverbanks so residents are asked to be extremely vigilant during the next couple of days as the water flows down the river into Franklin County. People with interests along the river should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect life and property. Do Not Drive Cars or walk through Flooded Areas.
