Franklin County clam farming on "Dirty Jobs" program tonight

Franklin and Wakulla counties will be featured on the Discovery Channel tonight on the newest episode of “Dirty Jobs”. “Dirty Jobs” is a program that focuses on some of the more difficult and messy occupations in the US.

The show came to Franklin County earlier this year to film clam harvesting in the Alligator Harbor Aquatic Preserve as well as worm grunting in the Apalachicola National Forest.

The show’s host, Mike Rowe, worked with local clam farmers Clayton Lewis, Bruce Skelton and Chip Earl at the Alligator Harbor Aquaculture Use Area. The crew also filmed clam processing at St. Theresa and filmed a Franklin County clam bake. If you would like to see the episode it will air tonight at 9 PM Eastern Time on the Discovery Channel.
