Franklin County Commission meets Tuesday in Carrabelle

The Franklin County Commission will meet tomorrow but not at the regular time or location. The board will meet tomorrow afternoon at 5 o’clock at the Carrabelle City Complex which used to be Carrabelle High School.

There are a few items of interest on the agenda including a public hearing where the board will consider repealing two future land use maps on St. James Island. The Future land use maps are for St. Joe Company land where the company plans to develop communities and include nearly 3000 homes. The board says with the downturn in the economy the land use may no longer be in the best interest of Franklin County.

Also on tomorrow’s agenda is a public hearing to make it a crime to block local boat ramps. The commission will also consider bids for road work on County road 30-a as well as on Avenue A.

The county commission meeting is open to the public – just remember it will be held at 5 o’clock at Carrabelle City Hall.
