Undelivered tax refunds are waiting for some Florida residents

Did you get your federal tax refund last year?

You might want to check because over 10,000 tax refunds in Florida remain undelivered in the mail. The unclaimed refunds total over $15.3 million dollars.

According to the IRS, three of those unclaimed refunds are for people in Franklin County, 8 are for Gulf County, 1 is for Liberty County and 6 are for Wakulla County.

Floridians who are owed a tax refund may claim their checks by visiting www.irs.gov and clicking “Where’s My Refund?” or by calling 1-(800)-829-1954 to update their mailing address. Some of the leading causes for the undelivered tax refunds include address changes and incorrect information on file.
