Weeks long flood warning continues for Apalachicola River

A flood warning remains in effect for areas along the Apalachicola River including Franklin, Gulf, Calhoun and Liberty Counties.

River levels are falling. The river level at Blountstown is just over 20 feet today. The river is expected to fall to about 18 and a half feet by Saturday though more rain is expected this week which could change that.

Flood stage for the Apalachicola River is 15 feet. River levels are not expected to fall below 15 feet until next week at the earliest.

All people with interests along the river should continue to monitor the latest forecasts. Do not walk or drive cars through flooded areas.
