Florida deer hunters now required to purchase 5 dollar deer permit

Beginning with the upcoming 2010-2011 hunting season, anyone hunting deer in Florida will a deer permit.
The new permit costs $5 and is available now for purchase.
Hunters with a sportsman's License or Lifetime Hunting License will not need to purchase the new deer permit, because it is already included.
However, the deer permit is not included with a general hunting license or with any of the combination licenses like a hunting/freshwater fishing license.
Money raised by the new permit will be earmarked to support deer management and deer research.
Proceeds will also support ongoing efforts to monitor Florida's deer herd for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD).
