Franklin County Commission meets Tuesday

The Franklin County Commission will be very busy on Tuesday.

The commission will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday morning at the Franklin County Courthouse Annex in Apalachicola.

The agenda includes a tax roll update from local tax collector James Harris.

The board will also open bids from companies interested in operating the local ambulance service, and they will open proposals for GIS Services.

GIS stands for Geographic Information System, its basically a computerized map of the county that would provide detailed information for the Property Appraiser and the Sheriff’s Department.

Health Department chief Wesley Tice will also attend Tuesday’s meeting to update the county about work being done at the Apalachicola Health Department building to fix a mold infestation.

The County Commission will also hold a preliminary budget workshop Tuesday afternoon with the Clerk of the Courts office and the county finance office.

The county will hold public budget workshops with county department heads and other groups on Thursday and Friday of this week.
