The Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Class will be holding classes to train volunteers who
wish to help their community in times of disaster. Red Cross volunteers provide shelter, food, water and
other necessities to people affected by disaster. They respond to help the victims of house fires, and
work with emergency management year round to prepare our community for disaster. Learn to be a
member of a Disaster Action Team.
All Disaster Services classes are free and open to the general public. Classes are two to three hours
long, except for Client Casework. Classes do not need to be taken in order, but all volunteers need to
take Intro to Disaster Services, and other classes according to their interests.
