Franklin County takes over building inspections for Apalachicola
Franklin County has agreed to issue building permits and provide building inspections in the city of Apalachicola after the city voted to eliminate the city’s building inspector position on October the 5th.
The city of Apalachicola removed the position during this year’s budget negotiations to save about $37,000 a year.
Franklin County has a building official and building inspector to handle to extra work.
Franklin County expects to make about 6000 dollars a year by providing the building inspector services to the city.
The County already provides building inspector services to the city of Carrabelle.
