Franklin County Humane Society awarded Petfinder Grant

Petfinder is a wonderful resource for shelters and rescues not only as a
place to post pictures and information about adoptable pets but also as a
source of current news and information regarding all things "Pet".

FCHS has used the Petfinder service for years and has successfully placed
countless animals all over the Southeast by using this program.  It has
been the single most helpful tool in getting the faces of our homeless
animals out to the public.

In July, Petfinder annouced they were offering grants for shelters
directly impacted by the Gulf Oil Spill. We applied for a grant due to
the large decease in  donations and monies earned through fundraising,
both of which suffered greatly during the 5 month ordeal.

FCHS was informed last week that the Petfinder Board had approved a Grant
of $3,000.00 to help offset the loss of revenue due to the spill.  This
money will be used exclusively for the care and medical needs of our
pets.

We are so grateful to Petfinder for their understanding of our situation
and for helping us overcome what has been a very difficult time for our
Adoption Center. Thank you Petfinder!
