Federal workers in North Florida give thousands to charity

Federal employees in the Big Bend donated nearly 120 thousand dollars to charity in 2010.
The money was spent to support local, national, and international charities through the 2010 Big Bend Combined Federal Campaign.
In addition to the monetary donations, federal employees also collected 1100 pounds of canned food items for America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend.
Almost 25% of all federal employees in the area donated to various causes as well as giving 120 hours of volunteer time.
The Combined Federal Campaign is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace giving campaign.
In 2009, the campaign raised over $283 million dollars nationwide.
