The City of Apalachicola has taken one of its water wells off-line after water tests showed e-coli.
The city said water from well number 6 tested positive for e-coli on Tuesday.
E-coli is a fecal indicator which indicates the water may be contaminated with human or animal waste.
The city said any contamination did not make it into peoples homes.
Water samples taken throughout the system on the same day showed no signs of contamination.
The city has taken well #6 off-line and says it will not be put back in service until all samples are clear.
New water tests are currently underway and the well itself is being evaluated.
People with any concerns should contact Apalachicola City Hall at 653-9319.
