Franklin County has been chosen to host this year’s Florida Dixie Youth Girls’ softball state tournament.
The tournament will be held at Kendrick Park in Carrabelle beginning with a banquet on July the 8th.
Games will start on July the 9th.
The 4 to 5 day tournament is going to bring a lot of people to Franklin County.
33 teams will compete; each team includes 12 players and 3 coaches.
Then you also have family and friends who tag along.
The Franklin County Parks and Recreation Department bid for the tournament and said they were very pleased to have the winning bid.
This isn’t the first major tournament to be held at Kendrick Park.
Last year the park hosted the Dixie Youth softball all-star tournament which brought in nearly 40 teams representing 12 Florida counties.
