Franklin's Promise awarded 25K BEST Grant

The Franklin’s Promise Coalition has been awarded a 25 thousand dollar Volunteer Florida BEST neighborhood grant.
The Franklin's Promise Coalition is a partnership of local non-profit organizations that provide services to the community.
The group was one of 16 in 17 counties to receive money to address economic recovery, education, disaster preparedness, environment and human needs in the community.
BEST, which stands for Build-Engage-Sustain-Transform, is a program that uses volunteering as a tool to facilitate positive changes within communities.
The program was designed to address needs in Florida counties with poverty levels of 16 percent or higher, and also counties affected by the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.
The BEST Neighborhoods grant is a three-year program contingent upon federal funding.
