The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is planning to amend Florida’s alligator hunting rules to extend alligator hunting hours.
Currently, the rule allows for only nighttime-hunting of alligators, between one hour before sunset and one hour after sunrise.
The FWC has given preliminary approval for an additional four hours of daylight-hunting during the state’s 11 week recreational alligator hunting season which would extend alligator hunting hours from 5 p.m. until 10 a.m.
Commissioners will vote on the change at their June meeting.
