The second annual Snowbird Day was held Tuesday on St. George Island and organizers are calling it a huge success.
Nearly 230 snowbirds took part in the days activities which included a fishing tournament and a raffle run as well as a bridge walk, lighthouse climb, and island tours.
Ron Solesha, from Pennsylvania, and Dennis Degrezt, from Wisconsin, were the winners of the fishing tournament this year; they received fishing gear and gifts from local merchants.
The day was hosted by the St. George Business Association with help from the St. George Island State Park, the St. George Island Civic Club, and other local groups.
