On Thursday, February 24th, tickets went on sale for the Camp Gordon Johnston Days dinner/dance to be held Saturday evening, the 12th of March, at the City Complex. Tickets are available at the CGJ WWII Museum. Tickets are $15.00 each with a choice of either seafood or barbequed chicken. The dinner/dance will have live music with Carrabelle’s own “Not Quite Ready” band. Tickets are limited, so buy early. If you wish, you can reserve your tickets by calling 697-8575.
Teams and individuals are already being signed up for the CGJA 3rd annual golf tournament being held at St. James Bay Gulf Course on Thursday March 10th. This tournament is the first event of the three-day reunion. To register play, Call 850 697-9102 and tell them you want in! This is a fun event to raise money for the CGJ Museum building fund. There will be prizes and a silent auction. Great accommodations are also available for those who wish to stay for the full Camp Gordon Johnston Days.
Those persons and groups wishing to be Parade participants on Saturday morning the 12th, are encouraged to join us. You can register your organization on-line at www.campgordonjohnston.com just click on the “Events Calendar” you’ll find the registration form. Fill it out, hit “send” and you’ll be assigned a spot or, If you wish, you can call Parade Marshal Sid Winchester at 850 524-3927 and give him the information.
Remember, the U.S. Army is planning a Beach Landing on Saturday afternoon. Be sure to bring the family to watch at Carrabelle Beach. The time will depend on the tides for that day. All events are posted on the web page.
Also, there will be an art tour and speed race during the reunion.
