HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. - Air Force Special Operations Command is hosting a
field exercise designed to train forces in combat scenarios here February 28
through March 11. The exercise concentrates on integrated tactics and
multi-service command and control.
Emerald Warrior, a joint service, interagency exercise, will take place in
training areas around Apalachicola, Hurlburt Field and the Eglin Range. It
will include the use of both "live" and "virtual" forces and there will be
increased military activity in the area.
The exercise will leverage lessons from Operations Iraqi Freedom and
Enduring Freedom to provide trained and ready forces to combatant
commanders.
