Here is your weekly news:

Congratulations to Camp Gordon Johnston for a successful weekend!
Look for pictures next week!
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) recently updated www.DeepwaterHorizonFlorida. com, transitioning the website from a response focus to a combined focus on response and restoration efforts in Florida . Information is now organized to better assist web visitors to find the information they are most interested in, including claims, beach health and safety, sampling and monitoring data, as well as, information on upcoming events, restoration efforts and response activities, including weekly updates.
In addition, DEP began monitoring Northwest Florida beaches the week of February 7, 2011 for persistent oil spill contaminants in water and sediment. All test results in Florida are compared to the adopted Florida human health screening levels. Human health screening levels for chemicals of concern are set for either water or sediment below which there is no significant risk for long-term human health effects. Based on analysis by the Florida Department of Health (DOH), the data collected to date have indicated no risk to human health from oil spill contaminants.
To view current beach health results from DEP testing, visit: http://www.dep.state.fl.us/ labs/cgi-bin/beach_health/ index.asp. For analysis by DOH, please visit: http://www.myfloridaeh.com/ BEACHnames.html. Please note that the DOH page is still undergoing updates and improvements.
