Florida Artists Hall of Fame Inductee Christopher Still at Apalachicola Museum of Art

(Apalachicola, Fla.) Wednesday March 23, 2011, 2 - 5 pm, Apalachicola Museum of Art.  A selection of paintings from the  “Visions of the Gulf" exhibition at the Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala will be on display for one day only with an opportunity to meet the artist, Christopher Still, Wednesday March 23, 2011 from 2 - 5 pm at the Apalachicola Museum of Art. Widely acclaimed for his paintings depicting the landscape, and history of Florida, Still’s paintings can be found in museums and private collections including the Smithsonian Institute, Governor’s Mansion of Florida, Tampa International Airport and the Chambers of the Florida House of Representatives in Tallahassee. He was inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame in 2010. His recent work "And My Father Before Me" has received much acclaim  and features the Evans Family of Carrabelle oystering in Apalachicola Bay. Please join us for the rare opportunity to view "And My Father Before Me" and celebrate life along the Gulfcoast. A small selection of other works from the "Visions of the Gulf" exhibition which feature the beauty of Apalachicola and the surrounding area will also be on display. “Christopher Still is one of the state’s most respected painters both for his awe-inspiring skill with the brush as well as his devotion to Florida themes in his work.
