A local bank is helping provide affordable homes for local people.
Superior Bank announced on Wednesday that it has donated a third of an acre lot to the Franklin County Habitat for Humanity.
Stephnia Turrell, Superior Bank’s Branch Manager in Apalachicola, said, “We are happy to be a part of such a great community. Donating the lot is our way of giving back.”
Franklin County Habitat President Skip Frink said that with the donation, Habitat will soon be announcing the start of one, and possibly two new Habitat homes in Eastpoint.
The bank will not stop at the land donation; bank workers plan to put a team together to help build the first Eastpoint House.
Habitat’s mission is to eliminate poverty housing from Franklin County and to make decent, affordable shelter for all people a matter of conscience.
