Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 20-year-old Tallahassee man on Tuesday after discovering him sleeping in his vehicle next to a convenience store with more than 50 grams of marijuana and Schedule 4 prescription pills in an unmarked container.
Logan Daniel Runyan was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of a Schedule 4 narcotic. Deputy Will Hudson made the arrest after being responding to a complaint from the convenience store that a motorist had come into the store demanding to use the telephone before returning to his vehicle and falling sleeping next to the store on Highway 319.
The deputy became concerned about the welfare of the suspect and entered the vehicle through an unlocked door to wake him.
During the inventory of the vehicle, an unlabeled prescription pill bottle was discovered with a variety of pills inside.
Two baggies contained a total of 53.5 grams of marijuana.
A scale and sandwich bags consistent with distribution of marijuana were also discovered.
Runyan was taken to the Wakulla County Jail without incident.
He was released on Wednesday on a $5,000 bond.
