The Carrabelle Chamber of Commerce and the City of Carrabelle are partnering together for a major media plan to promote Carrabelle. The marketing plan will focus on both tourism and the business economy of Carrabelle.
The Chamber held a special meeting with the Carrabelle City Council and Mayor Curly Messer to present the plan on Tuesday, March 15th at the Carrabelle City Complex. Sheila Hauser Marketing Consultant and Chamber President, along with Chamber Executive Director Susanne Zimmerman presented the plan to the Council.
Components of the marketing plan include WCTV-Channel 6 CBS in Tallahassee which has a coverage area of over 45 counties including Tallahassee, North and Central Florida, Southeast Georgia and Southeast Alabama. This will include internet marketing on the highly popular www.wctv6.tv website.
To attract the visitors on St. George Island, the media plan will focus on TV spots that will be seen on St. George Cable Channel 9, which goes into over 70% of the vacation rentals and hotels on the Island. To promote Carrabelle worldwide, the marketing team will be placing video on
www.forgottencoasttv.com to assist visitors in planning their vacation and providing information on where to stay, restaurants and things to do.
The marketing plan also consists of a mobile app for the city that will be compatible with the popular IPhone and Droid phones. The mobile app will assist visitors in planning their vacations and access all the latest information on businesses and events in the Carrabelle area. The plan includes attending travel and trade shows to promote and highlight Carrabelle as the perfect destination to vacation, buy a home, open a business and to become part of the Carrabelle community.
The commission appointed City Commissioner Charlotte Schneider to represent the commission in working with the Carrabelle Chamber to proceed with the plan. Schneider is active in the tourism industry as the owner of Sunset Isle RV and Marina in addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the Carrabelle Chamber. Additional partners will include the organizations in Carrabelle and the Carrabelle business community.
The Chamber will be planning meetings with the businesses and organizations in Carrabelle to have their input and ideas as they move forward with the media plan. Contact the Chamber of Commerce at 850-697-2585 if you would like more information.
