Powerful storms that moved across the Florida panhandle Monday night and Tuesday morning caused some minor damage around the area.
The Franklin County Emergency Management office said the storms downed trees in locations around the county, knocking out power in some areas and damaging at least one home.
Emergency Management Director Pam Brownell said trees were knocked down at Bay City and on Highway 65 near Bloody Bluff.
Fallen trees were also found near County Road 67 at Walnut Creek and in the area between St. Teresa and Alligator Point.
Power was also knocked out for short times in some areas around Apalachicola and for a much longer time between Alligator Point and St. Theresa.
Minor damage to one mobile home on Bluff Road was reported – officials believe a small tornado may have ripped shingles off the roof and blew out a bedroom window.
Gulf County reported much the same type of damage with downed trees and limbs and Power outages in the northern part of the county.
Liberty County reported a tin roof blown off a home, an oak limb falling on a mobile home and at least one vehicle damaged by flying debris.http://www.oysterradio.com e-mail manager@oysterradio.com with comments
