Severe weather possible early next week- prelim heads up

Hello all,

Before you head off for the weekend I wanted to give a quick heads-up that
the potential for severe weather continues to increase for our entire area
early next week- Monday afternoon into Tuesday.  The Storm Prediction Center
in their extended range forecast have placed nearly the entire southeastern
U.S. (including our whole area) under a forecast for possible widespread
severe thunderstorms for that time period.  It is very rare for us to get
added in a severe thunderstorm forecast beyond day 2 or 3.  You can access
their outlooks online at http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/

The details this far in advance are too iffy to produce any briefing
materials at this time.  However, unless things change dramatically, you can
expect briefing packets and perhaps webinars to begin as early as Sunday
afternoon.  I just wanted you to be aware of that possibility and plan
accordingly.

Please contact the forecasters at 850-942-8833 at any point during the
weekend if you have additional questions.  I'm working this weekend as well
and will try to send out updated emails if needed.

Take care and enjoy your weekend.  We'll be keeping a close eye on things
here.
Jeff Evans
