The Florida Department of Education Thursday released 3rd grade FCAT results in math and reading and Franklin County students fared relatively well.
66 percent of local third graders scored at or above grade level in reading, that’s below the statewide average of 72 percent.
It’s a little lower than last year when 74 percent of local 3rd graders passed the reading portion of the test.
66 percent of third graders at the consolidated school passed the reading portion of the test this year at the Apalachicola Bay Charter School it was 67 percent.
64 percent of local third graders passed the math section of the FCAT, that’s down from 72 percent last year.
It’s also below the statewide average of 78 percent.
55 percent of the 3rd graders at the consolidated school passed the math portion of the FCAT this year, at the Apalachicola Bay Charter School it was 81 percent.
