Franklin County unemployment drops for third month


Unemployment in Franklin County fell for the third month in April.

Unemployment fell to 7.7 percent last month.

That’s down from 8.1 percent in March.

415 people were looking for work last month, that’s 14 fewer than the month before.

The statewide unemployment rate in April also fell to 10.4 percent.

32 of Florida’s 67 counties had unemployment rates of 10 percent or above.

Gulf County saw its unemployment rate drop below 10 percent in April.

Unemployment there fell from 10.6 percent to 9.9 percent.

629 people were looking for work in Gulf County last month.

In Liberty County the unemployment rate remained fell to 6.5 percent with 258 people looking for work there.

Wakulla County’s unemployment rate fell slightly to 7.6 percent with just under 1300 people looking for jobs in that county.
