Boil water notice in effect for part of Port St. Joe

There is a boil water notice in effect for a portion of Port St. Joe today.

Residents on Garrison Avenue from 10th street to 16th street and Hunter Circle are asked to boil their water before using it for drinking, cooking or brushing your teeth.

The Port St. Joe Water and Sewer Department said the boil water notice became necessary Monday after pressure in the system fell below 20 psi during the unidirectional flushing event.

The boil water notice will remain in effect until the water can be tested for bacteria.

If you have any questions, you can call the Port St. Joe Public Water Department at 229-6395.
