EXTREME FIRE WEATHER STATEMENT

Date: 6/9/2011

Due to lack of significant rain and extremely dry conditions, Franklin County Emergency Management urges all citizens to be extremely cautious with outdoor burning of yard trash, household paper products, bonfires, warming fires and cooking fires at this time.

Please use common sense and never leave fires of any kind unattended and always have a charged water hose handy, even for Bar B Qs and charcoal fires.

Extinguish fires when cooking outdoors and make sure they out….”Dead Out”….before leaving. Do not discard cigarettes from moving vehicles and do not park a hot car or operate all terrain vehicles on dry grass.

Your cooperation as a concerned citizen or visitor will go a long way in providing public safety in Franklin County this fire season.
