Board Certified Vascular Surgeon, Patrick Tamim Presents “Peripheral Artery Disease and Stroke Prevention”

Port St. Joe, Fla. – Every year, over half a million Americans suffer a stroke.  Strokes have become the third-leading cause of death and are the number one cause of long-term disability for adults in the US. 
            To educate the community about the causes and prevention of “brain attack,” vascular surgeon Dr. Patrick Tamim will provide a free presentation on stroke on Aug. 15 at 10:30 a.m. in the Conference Room at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf.  Dr. Tamim also will provide information regarding peripheral artery disease, commonly referred to as PAD.
            Pre-registration is requested for the seminar, which is sponsored by Sacred Heart’s SeniorSpirit membership program. Please call Paulina Pendarvis at 229-5627 to register.
            Dr. Tamim is a graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed residency in general surgery and a vascular surgery fellowship. He specializes in the treatment of vascular diseases to include: stroke prevention, open and endovascular treatment of aneurysm and peripheral artery diseases, varicose and spider veins, and dialysis access.
