Commissioner Putnam to Participate in Wakulla Oyster Relay

Commissioner Adam Putnam will participate in the Wakulla County Oyster Relay in Panacea, FL, on Thursday, August 11. At the relay, 22,000 bushels of oysters will be relocated from water classified as “restricted” or “conditionally restricted” to waters classified as “conditionally approved” or “approved.” This process allows these oysters to cleanse themselves and become safe for human consumption. U.S. Representative Steve Southerland and Florida Senator Bill Montford will also be in attendance. The event is open to the press.
