The Franklin County Humane Society has received a grant to help spay and neuter pets in the county.
The local humane society received a 3000 dollar grant from the Ryan Newman Foundation which will now help fund the group’s spay/neuter voucher program.
That program helps pet owners by offering low-cost spaying and neutering to those that qualify.
Spaying and neutering your pets through the program costs $20.00 and the service includes a Rabies vaccination.
If you are a pet owner and need to have your pet altered but feel like you can’t afford it, you can call the Humane Society at 670-8417 or come by the adoption center on Highway 65 to fill out an application.
The Ryan Newman Foundation was created by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ryan Newman and his wife, Krissie in 2005 to educate and encourage people to spay/neuter their pets.
