Celebrate the Bay on Estuaries Day Sept 23
It's
all about the Bay on Friday, Sept. 23 as the Apalachicola National
Estuarine Research Reserve celebrates National Estuaries Day at its new
Nature Center in Eastpoint.The festivities will run from 1-6:30 p.m.
and will feature games and activities such as a beach scavenger hunt,
netmaking demonstrations and live reptiles on display. There will also be touch tanks featuring local wildlife and door prizes.
Estuaries
Day will be held at the Reserve's Nature Center located near the St.
George Island Bridge at 108 Island Drive, Eastpoint. Learn more about the area resources and activities by

Camp Gordon Johnston Hosts Museum Day Sept 24
A collaborative effort between the
Smithsonian Magazine and Camp Gordon Johnston, this will mark the 5th
consecutive year that the CGJ WWII Museum has been asked to participate
in this national event. The Museum, located in the Carrabelle
Municipal complex at 1001 Gray Ave, will host visitors from 10 A.M
until 4 P.M. and will feature documentary movies, some highlighting
local people, as well as live music. Admission is by donation. Learn
