Coast guard asks for investigation of oil sheen in the Gulf

The U.S. Coast Guard Captain is ordering Transocean to investigate the cause of oil sheen sighted in the Gulf of Mexico.
Transocean owns the drilling rig that exploded last year causing the biggest oil spill in US History.
A series of sheen sightings have occurred recently and the Coast Guard says that could indicate oil being released from the riser pipe or other debris on the ocean floor from the Deepwater Horizon incident.
The Coast Guard says that Recent video footage indicates that the oil is not coming from the capped Macondo well.
On Tuesday, the Coast Guard issued a Notice of Federal Interest to the company.
That puts the company on notice that it could be financially accountable for debris removal costs and damages resulting from oil in the gulf.
The Coast Guard sad it will work with Transocean to discuss options to determine whether or not the wreckage is the cause of the oil sheen.
