MOBILE, Ala. — The Coast Guard is
searching for one overdue boater who reportedly did not return home
after a boating trip, Saturday, from Ft. Walton, Fla., to Apalachicola,
Fla.
Missing is Dawn Hurdwisner.
At 2:49 a.m., Sunday, Coast Guard Sector Mobile watchstanders received
notification from a friend of Hurdwisner reporting that she did not
return home at a pre-scheduled time after departing on a boating trip
aboard a 40-foot black recreational craft named Naughty Nixon.
Currently searching are:
Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile HC-144A
Ocean Sentry and crew;
Coast Guard Station Panama City, Fla., 25-foot Response
Boat - Small and crew.
"Since the initial call we have searched an area larger
than Rhode Island, in order to locate Hurdwisner," said Ensign Torry
James, public affairs officer for Sector Mobile. "We have searched
for approximately six hours near and around Apalachicola Bay. "
Also, the Coast Guard issued an Urgent Marine Information
Broadcast to mariners in the area.
