Chamber Names New Executive Director
Today the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce named its new Executive Director, Mr. Barry Sellers. Mr. Sellers will be coming to Gulf County from his position as Executive Director of the Corning Economic Development Commission in Corning, Arkansas.  

Mr. Sellers holds a Business Degree from Arkansas State University and professional certifications from a number of institutions including the University of Oklahoma and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Mr. Sellers will bring over 20 years of professional experience in economic development, chamber management and marketing.


“We are proud of the processes that lead us to Mr. Sellers and we are excited about our community’s future with him at the helm of our Chamber and Economic Development activities,” said Bobby Pickels, President of the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Mr. Sellers will begin his duties at the Chamber of Commerce on Monday, September 26, 2011, and is looking forward to meeting all of our wonderful Chamber members and being a part of this community.______________________
Denim and Diamonds for Covenant Hospice TONIGHT!
Pull out your favorite jeans and Bling and head over to the Centennial Building in Port St. Joe tonight as Covenant Hospice Hosts DENIM AND DIAMONDS.  There will be a great meal along with entertainment and prizes.  You might even win something sparkly to take home!  Tickets are available at the door and are $25.  The event begins at 6 p.m. and will raise money for this incredible organization that serves so many right here in Gulf County.

New Chamber Committee Holds First Meeting
The Chamber of Commerce will be holding its first meeting of the Port St. Joe Business Committee on Monday, September 19, 2011, from 4:30-5:30 pm at the Gulf County Welcome Center in the Board Room.  All Port St. Joe businesses are encouraged to attend.  This committee will be working to encourage traffic into our businesses and needs your help to get this done!  Contact the Chamber Office at 850-227-1223 if you have any questions.

GULF COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY MONTHLY MEETING at Capital City Bank

The Gulf County Republican Party will be wrapping up the details for the trip to Orlando, on September 22nd-24th, for the Gulf County Delegates who will be participating in the Presidency 5 Straw Poll.  All interested Republicans are invited.

 Forgotten Coast Builder's Association 10th Annual Golf Tournament
Every year the Forgotten Coast Builder's Association gives scholarships towards better educating our youth in Gulf and Franklin Counties. We can only do this with your help!  You can be a part of this great event by, playing a game of golf with friends or being a sponsor. This year's fund raising tournament is Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, 12 noon at the St. Joseph Bay Country Club in Port St. Joe.
