Two
areas of the bay closed to oyster harvesting earlier this week have now
reopened.
Apalachicola Bay harvesting areas 1642 and
1612 reopened at sunrise today.
1642
has been closed since Tuesday, 1612 closed on Monday.
Both
areas were closed because of heavy rains last weekend which require state
biologists to sample the waters for contaminants before allowing oysters to be
harvested from there.
And
remember, commercial oyster harvesting is now open 7 days a week.
That
rule took effect on September the 1st.
