If you have kids and you’d like a safe way to
introduce them to hunting, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission’s Youth Hunting Field Day is coming up.
Youth Hunting Field Day is a free, half-day event
for interested kids and their parents.
Attendees will get to shoot at targets with bows
and arrows, shotguns, rifles and muzzleloading guns.
There will also be a hunting-dog demonstration and
door prizes including a youth hunt or a free week of summer camp in Ocala or at the Beau Turner Youth Conservation
Center near Tallahassee.
You don’t have to pre-register, just show up at the
Tall Timbers Research Station and Land Conservancy, north of Tallahassee on Saturday, September the 24th between
10 and 3.
You can get directions on-line at talltimbers.org.
