Speed limit to rise on Twin Lakes Road

County commissioners have agreed to increase the speed limit on Twin Lakes Road in Eastpoint.

Twin Lakes Road connects Otter Slide road to North Bayshore Drive.

It’s mostly as straightaway with homes on one side and woods on the other.

The speed limit there has been 25 miles an hour but the county received at least one complaint that similar roads in Eastpoint have speed limits of 35 miles an hour.

The board agreed that the speed limit should be raised after having an engineer take a look at the issue.

One short section of the road where it connects to Otter Slide will remain 25 miles an hour because of a sharp curve there.

The higher speed limit will take effect as soon as the county can get the signs installed.
