ACF River basin added to list of "great waters"

The Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin and the St. Johns River in Florida have been added to the list of Great Waters by the America’s Great Waters Coalition. 

The Coalition is an alliance of national, regional, state and local organizations devoted to protecting, preserving and restoring important water resources.

The waterways on the list of Great waters are all considered critical to local economies but are all threatened by pollution and other human demands.

The Coalition advocates for decision makers to support restoration efforts for America’s waterways that are and way of life for communities nationwide.

Also on the list of Great Waters are the Florida Everglades, the Great Lakes, Chesapeake Bay, Puget Sound, and Coastal Louisiana.
