the Gulf County Health Department will be conducting a FREE Rabies Vaccination Clinic for cats and dogs on Saturday

The Gulf County Health Department issued a rabies alert on April 6th, after they received confirmation that a second raccoon, found in Northern Wewahitchka had tested positive for rabies.

With assistance from supporting agencies, the Gulf County Health Department will be conducting a FREE Rabies Vaccination Clinic for cats and dogs at the Honeyville Community Center, this Saturday April 28th from 8:00-12:00 central time.

For you and your pet’s safety, please remain in your vehicle upon arrival until instructed. Please keep your pet in a carrier or on a leash.

Animals must be at least four months old and if possible, please bring proof of most recent rabies vaccination.

Remember, all dogs and cats over 4 months of age must be currently vaccinated for rabies by a licensed veterinarian.  An animal with an expired rabies certificate or given by a person other than a licensed vet is considered unvaccinated.

For questions, contact the Gulf County Health Department at 227-1276.
