Severe Weather Potential on Thursday April 5th

Hello Everyone:

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee is continuing to monitor the
potential for severe weather across the region on Thursday, April 5th.
At this time, we are not anticipating a widespread severe weather event,
however, a few of our computer models are indicating increased severe risk
as an upper level disturbance moves through the Southeast.
 

While instability will be moderately high with this event, wind shear is not
predicted to be especially strong. As a result, the primary expected risk at
this time is for damaging wind gusts and large hail. Isolated tornadoes
cannot be ruled out, but are not anticipated to be the main risk with this
system.

Preliminary timing graphics are attached to this email. Note that some areas
are depicted in the strong/severe risk area for most of the day.
This indicates a combination of the uncertainty remaining with this event
and the possibility of more than one round of severe storms in any one
location. 
We will continue to monitor this situation closely over the next couple of
days. Should the threat for severe weather increase, a full briefing packet
or webinar will be provided on Wednesday afternoon.
