Volunteers needed to serve as camp hosts in the Apalachicola National Forest

The Apalachicola National Forest is looking for people who would like to volunteer as camp hosts at various recreation sites throughout the forest.

Camp hosts are unpaid volunteer positions.

The hosts do get to camp for free in the camping or day use recreation area in exchange for 30 hours of service per week.

Some of the duties that camp hosts do include welcoming visitors and providing them with information about the forest, performing general site maintenance, and assisting the Recreation Technicians.

Camp hosts must have their own self-contained camping unit such as an RV, pull behind or fifth wheel trailer.

Full hookups are available at most host sites.

To apply for a camp host position on the Apalachicola National Forest, contact Anna Servay at 850-575-9064 ext. 6626 or amservay@fs.fed.us for more information.
