Rock the Dock Fishing Tournament

The 2012 Panacea Rock the Dock Fishing Tournament will be held April 28 & 29. The event was founded in 2009 to benefit the Panacea Coastal Community and to promote the excellent fishing and boating opportunities in and around Panacea. This family-oriented event has raised funds for improvements to the Panacea Coastal Community, including the restoration of the Rock Landing Dock & Boat Ramp.
Registration & the Captain’s Party/Meeting will begin at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 27th, next to the Rock Landing Marina. Attendance is mandatory for all participating anglers and the event is open to the public. Dinner will be provided by Posey’s Up the Creek Restaurant for all registered participants, with additional food and beverage available for purchase by the public. 39th Annual Stephen C. Smith Memorial Regatta

Join us at the 39th Annual regatta, two days of great racing, beach activities, sun, fun, food and the live auction on Sunday. The regatta benefits the Leon County Unit of the American Cancer Society which serves Leon, Wakulla, and other Big Bend Counties. Initially created in memory of a young sailor who died of leukemia, the Regatta now honors all of our friends, family and loved ones whom we have lost to cancer. 2nd Annual 4-H Jam 4 Camp Fundraiser

This event is FREE to vendors and bands who wish to participate. This event is open to the public and raises money for 4-H camp scholarships for Wakulla County youth by collecting donations from Sponsors, Band “votes,” vendor contributions, t-shirt sales and a silent auction. The five bands participating will play at one hour intervals and collect “votes” in the form of dollars raised. Youth and their parents are also invited to sign up for ALL 4-H Camps this day. Camps will fill up fast and spaces are limited, so it is best to arrive early and stay and enjoy the day.
Neil Simon’s “Biloxi Blues” to be shown at CGJ WWII Museum Theatre

Neil Simon’s “Biloxi Blues” to be shown at CGJ WWII Museum Theatre during this week’s Riverfront Festival.
Join us during the Riverfront Festival in Carrabelle this upcoming weekend. On Saturday, April 28, at 12:00 noon, the CGJ WWII Museum will be showing “Biloxi Blues” starring Matthew Broderick. Written by playwright Neil Simon, the story covers the real life of the youthful writer (alter ego Eugene Jerome) during his hellish ten weeks of basic training at Biloxi, Mississippi in the Army during WWII.
The movie is approximately 2 hours long. There will be free popcorn and water for those who attend. As usual, the entrance fee for the museum is a donation. There is no extra charge for the film.
While this film is a nostalgic comedy, it is rated R for adults who are18 or older.
