1 person was killed and two injured in a two car accident on the Apalachicola Bridge last night.

            1 person was killed and two injured in a two car accident on the Apalachicola Bridge last night.

54 year old Vicky Harris Segree of Eastpoint was killed in the crash.

37 year old Sabrina Hicks of Eastpoint who was a passenger in Miss Segree’s car was seriously injured as was the driver of the second vehicle, 19 year old Chandler B. Moses of Apalachicola.

The accident happened about a mile and a half from the Eastpoint end of the bridge.

According to the Highway Patrol, Mister Chandler was westbound on the bridge in a 1997 Toyota pickup at about 9:20 Wednesday night when he drove across the center line into the path of the 2005 Kia Sedona driven by Miss Segree.

The left front of the vehicles collided, causing Mister Chandler’s truck to roll over a number of times until it came to rest on the north shoulder of the bridge.

The highway patrol said that alcohol did not play a role in the accident and Miss Segree was wearing her seatbelt.

Traffic was held up for a number of hours while officials worked at the scene.
