SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
7th Annual Florida Forgotten Coast America's Great Plein Air Paint-Out will host a number of events starting May 3rd, 2012 and running through the 13th of May. All times are Eastern Standard.
• Watch 'Art Happen' at various locations between Mexico Beach and Alligator Point
• Wetroom exhibit of art at the Apalachicola Center for History, Culture & Art
• Plein Air Classics at Port St. Joe Marina
• Plein Air Explained at the St. George Island Lighthouse Museum
• Artists' Choice Collection at the History Museum in Carrabelle
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Various special events will also be held commencing with the May 4th Opening Luncheon at the Port St. Joe Marina at noon EST.
• Always a huge hit the "Quickdraw" May 5th on Marine Avenue in Carrabelle is an opportunity for artists of all ages to try their hand at painting en plain air, starting at 10am (EST) with judging at noon. Please pre-register at www.pleinartfl.com.
• Painting by the light of the silvery Full Moon will take place May 6th at Riverfront Park in Apalachicola and the Port. St. Joe Marina - 8 to 10 pm (EST).
• Meet the artists at a Receptions held May 7th At Salinas Park, May 8th at the St. George Lighthouse - 4 to 6 pm (EST); and May 10th, at the Mexico Beach Welcome Center - 5 to 7 pm (EST).
• May 9th is devoted to Student Art Day at the Port St. Joe Marina - 10 to 1 pm (EST) in which local high school students are mentored by an invited artist.
• At Art As A Window invited artists Mary Erickson, Tracey Frugoli and Morgan Samuel Price, will gather at the Apalachicola Center for History, Culture & Art on May 11th to discuss their work - 2 to 4 pm (EST).
• Come TGIF with the Plein Air artists at the Marina in Port St Joe from 5 to 8 pm (EST) - tickets are $10 and available online at www.pleinairfl.com.
• A grand tradition, the Grand Patrons' Party will be held this year at the Apalachicola Center for History, Culture & Art showcasing award winning paintings and artwork. Ticket prices include refreshments and are $40. They can be purchased online (www.pleinairfl.com) or at the door - from 6:30 to 10pm (EST).
• Closing out this year's Plein Air Invitational with activities for the whole family on May 13th , Art In The Afternoon will showcase art for sale as well as entertainment and activities for the children at the ApalachicolaCenter for History, Culture and Art from 11 to 3pm (EST).
For an opportunity to see the artists in their element make a point to set aside some time to view the Demonstrations all along the Forgotten Coast. All times are Eastern Standard.
