County
commissioners are back to square one when it comes to finding a new fixed base
operator for the Apalachicola Airport .
The
board learned last week that Fly High, the company it was negotiating with for
the service has decided not to take the job and the previous FBO has already
left the airport.
The
board already has a plan in place to insure that fuel will be available at the
airport, because it may take a few months or longer to re-advertise for
companies that have the expertise needed to provide services like hangaring, aircraft rental and aircraft
maintenance.
At
this point the county commission has thrown the issue back to Airport Advisory
Committee for further consideration.
